Personalllyyy, I am not sure why Charlie is as hyped as he is 😭😭- don’t get me wrong, I loved his character and I loved everything he did but idk….not my fav (I fear I am saying this cuz I read ice skating before this and I loved that book soooo much) I still liked him a lot. Did not like the amount of swearing cuz at times it felt a tad bit unnecessary but overall it was such a CUTTEEE book. As expected from Lynn Painter 😃✋

This is definitely VERY different from Ali Hazelwood’s usual books and I am not the right target audience (I knew the book was smutty but did not expect it to happen every few pages…even if it was the protaganists’ coping mechanism or what not) It was a good book in terms of the plot and I was really into the characters and their backgrounds. The experiment was interesting too and I loved that the FMC was not how she commonly writes them to be. Also if there was a dude that could embody being ‘downbad’, Eli would take the crown happily bcz wow there was no hiding from the first moment we are introduced to him. AND HE DOES NOT FALTER FROM THAT FEATURE AT ANY POINT IN THE BOOK 😭✋ how fun. im rating it a bit low only cuz im not into smut and this book is rlly centred around it (that is on me) but apart from that, the plot makes it a good read.

I believe I did not understand enough of this book to review it properly. The age gap is a bit glaring and I understand the intent of discomfort while reading but I did not get the ending. It was quite abrupt and I think I was supposed to acknowledge something major but I couldn’t 😭 I am able to understand the character Sukie a little but I am not sure what to do with that….

The premise of this book sounded interesting to me, especially for someone who loves bookshops and books in general. Although I could not relate to Takako in any way and was confused why she left her job despite not having been with her ex for that long, I enjoyed the first part. I liked seeing Takako grow and turn into a strong, compassionate person. But I began losing interest from the second part onwards since it was not about the bookshop or even Takako?? The characters felt flat and I did not know why I had to suddenly care about the aunt 😭😭 Overall, it was a relaxing read but I kinda got bored halfway through 😓

As someone who did not read the blurb and went in blind, I did not expect her to turn invisible when the setting and the story was realistic 😭 I liked how relatable the fmc felt as someone who is also an overachieving academic girl and has experienced being surrounded by filthy rich people. Her actions were justifiable to her situation..until the last part of the book where I really started questioning her judgement. Part of me also disliked the male lead to just go with whatever she did like he had no opinion on his own or develop by the end of the book. Maybe it’s just me who thought he did nothing except assist her little project. I originally added this book in my TBR bcz of the academic-rivals trope but there is not much of that?? Not a problem BUT would not recommend if that is what someone is looking for. Overall it’s still a well-written and an enjoyable book so would recommend for a fun read <3

AHHHH this book was actually really good- from the plot to the characters, I really enjoyed reading the whole thing. Dani is the best main character Lynn has written so far: she was relatable, realistic and overall she was portrayed really well. Alec was likeable too, though I must say I did not enjoy the repetition with his Zeus nickname (I did not necessarily like him being called that in the first place 😭) and also regarding how physically big he is. Like I get it…he is a hockey player….I think he should be built like that for what he does YK. AND GRANDPA MICKKK- I love love LOVED his character + Cassie too. The characters were so well written and unproblematic, it was refreshing to read 😚😚 One thing I must say I disliked is the miscommunication. I’ve read that type of story so many times so it kind of icked me there and I understand my man was in LOVE with her but instead of choosing ‘ignorance is bliss’, he should have genuinely expressed how hurt he was. But apart from that, it was a really enjoyable read and I would recommend people to pick it up, especially if they liked Lynn’s other books.

One thing about Karen’s books is that they seem to be all the same in terms of how it is leading- at least at first. Given I have read many of her books already, it is easy for me to acknowledge whoever did it is someone I have been reading about and someone that I did not expect, which also made it easy for me to guess who it was. BUT the story and the unraveling is what makes each of the book different and special and I loved this one especially (so much so I finished it in a day) The ending was wild but it was good. Although I must say, it is kinda insane that the whole story took place over the course of ONE DAY???? tbh I also did not understand the motive when it did come out so it is not my fav one from this series but it was definitely a fun read :)

This was a hard read….the characters, especially the main two, were just not it….the male love interest River was simply rude and annoying for the most part. It was like the author was trying to force an enemies to lovers but it simply was not working in this book. There were so many questionable and also quite unnecessary plot holes and there was this dream sequence that was added there for no reason?? The only good thing I found about this book was the diversity but that does not add much to the story except representation YK 😭😭 Everything in this book, to me, was just written messily so unfortunately not my fav. Im gonna leave this review with a quote that I found super memorable…. “If you were my wife I’d bathe in your bath water to absorb your very essence”

Did not expect myself to like this book as much as I did. As someone who loves neuroscience and romance, this book really brought both of them together well. Levi pouring out his love towards Bee and the way it was written was actually quite beautiful 😭 they got together quick but I am happy the book did not just centre around their relationship and consisted other parts of their life too. The only thing that annoyed me here and there were the Marie Curie connections to every single thing Bee did and THE AMOUNT OF TIMES THE AUTHOR WROTE ABOUT HOW TALL AND COLOSSAL LEVI WAS. I get it, I swear I do, he. is. tall. 😭 BUT it was funny and tackled real life problems so overall, it was a pretty good read!!

Just when I thought I predicted the plot and who Mr.Smith is, that is when bombshells are dropped and I’m back to thinking “how…😭”. The twists in this book- i don’t think I saw any of it coming. The only unrealistic thing about this book was how good Lucca was at doing all these illegal things while that young but regardless, the plot was really well-written and I loved how everything came together. Loved the characters, loved how strong Lucca’s character was written too. Overall, it was a good read <3

I could not continue reading it at first because 1) i was confused 2) the plot at the beginning was not that interesting. BUT THANK GOD I PUSHED MYSELF TO READ BCZ WOW THE BOOK WAS GOOD. Loved the characters, loved the bond between them and loved the plot as well. Though it got a bit too much towards the end cuz there was a LOT going on I’ll be honest, nonetheless I enjoyed reading it a lot. Putting together the pieces was so fun and just like every one of Jennifer’s story, it was so satisfying to watch it all happen. Even better, it was just a bunch of smart girls doing all of that 🧍🏽‍♀️Excited to read the second book hehe.

No cuz why are these people friends???? If someone talked to me the way Charlie did to Raymond, I would not be calling them a friend- especially if they decided to meet me just to leave me with their condescending wife who thinks I am not doing well in life. At all. I did not see a resolution to the conflict and none of them improved as characters. Maybe that was the point of the story- to show that people could be that way but I was not the biggest fan. I enjoyed the writing style though 😗

Good god this was such an eye-opening book 😭 Felt like someone saw right through me and then wrote about it and the worst part is, the love interest was not even in support of that, like they usually tend to be. Aaron was just super straightforward pointing out what has to be fixed and how to do exactly that and Jenna not wanting to change bcz she finally feels recognised and seen was too relatable and real for an academic overachiever. Honestly reading about Jessica frustrated me too cuz she was perfect and it was super difficult to dislike her too since she was so nice 😭 but by the end of the book, I came to loving all 3 characters, esp Jenna with her actually growing as a person and wanting better for herself. Loved that.

To begin with, i really like where the plot is going with the whole New Republican thing with the dystopia going extra crazy with the new technology. After reading 11 books with barely any profanity, minus the Kenji POV novellas, reading this one really took me aback cuz omg James’s social skills are entirely from Kenji (still love my boo, Aaron). It felt wrong to imagine James as attractive especially since he was a child for the previous 11 books 😭 And Rosabelle….i thought Juliette was messed up but Rosa takes the crown rlly 😃 The only criticism I have for this book is that it’s too short…i do not want to wait any longer to get the second part :(

The thing I liked most about this book is the character, Nora- sure I hated how many times they mentioned that she has never cried but as the story goes on, you can see she is just a girl who cares too much and loves too much. Loved the growth of their relationship between Libby and Nora and I loved their bond so so so much. Libby is such a fun character and Charlie even more. He said such funny and cute little lines here and there, I enjoyed it sm!! The book was too long but the story was nice and enjoyable that I pushed through it and I really wanted to see how they will resolve the problem. Low-key at first I got the vibes that Charlie was some old 50 year old editor so when the story gravitated to him being the love interest, I was so lost 😭 that….was on me. hehe. There were sm weird quotes Nora said about Charlie that I questioned how a 2 week relationship did that BUT I can’t be sure considering I hv been in 0 relationships. Overall, it was pretty good but a tad bit too long for me cuz I was reading it online and it was like 600 fricking pages on there 💪🏽☺️

It’s easy to be hooked from the beginning of the story as it has a really strong, murderous start and you begin wondering what is happening from page 1 of the book. Which was great in terms of engagement bcz I did not want to put the book down. BUT, it was pretty easy to guess who did what at first. Big emphasis on the ‘at first’ part because just when you think you have it all figured out, there is more lore dropped and you go 😧😧😧. Definitely did not expect some things to happen but I really loved the way the book ended cuz if it ended with the man free, I’d be mad ☺️🔪

Only reason why the rating is so low is because I don’t think I am smart enough for this book…i did not understand the book much- partly because of how many words I did not know that were present in each and every sentence. ALSO, I’m unsure if it is because I read it as an e-book BUT THERE WERE SO MANY CHUNKS OF WORDS. Like yeah sure paragraphs are fine but not when every single thing was a paragraph. Despite being such a tiny book, it took me more time to read this than the book I read with 600 pages….

Honestly idk what to say….i was quite confused why this repetition kept occurring even when the book ended…like it did not add much to why SHE had to experience all that??? Also the thing with Josh….i did not understand that too. And he deserved to be more mad/upset over what she did than just a “i had it coming” (he did not. not that day in the timeloop anyway. she does not like assumptions but she went ahead and assumed what happened that day. so nope not a fan.) Overall, not my fav and would have loved to see some character growth in Emilie.

This is a good book for the authors debut but it was quite challenging for me to read. There was a lot of confusion on the flipping back and forth and even more confusion on why certain things were even being said. There were plots that did not necessarily have to be there and the sentences were so abrupt every time that it got a bit annoying 😔 I mean maybe it was the intended effect that reflected the characters thinking but still- made it kinda hard to read here and there. The author did do a very good job of painting the scene, I really loved the atmosphere. I liked the ending too so overall it wasn’t too bad 😙‼️

Safe to say, I did not have fun reading it and I wanted to finish the book as quickly as possible. The main character was so annoying, possibly because she was such a boy’s girl??? Idk I hated her as much as I disliked the plot. The 2 final pages of the book really got me shook but the rest was expected. There were sooo many lines that was unnecessary to the story and the “I lope you” WAS SO ANNOYING TO HEAR EVERYTIME AHH. Overall, not my fav and probably would not recommend if you are looking for a thriller.

This book depicted how messy families work really well, especially the whole thing with the siblings and the grandmother. The twists were twistinggg in this book, even if they were honestly a little unrealistic. At some point, I could not keep up with what was being said 😭. Did not know how someone could have pulled off a stunt like that for decades on end yk??? It was a bit insane but I really loved how it all unfolded. Did I love the ending for the siblings? Not one bit. But I really loved the healing process aspect of it all and coming to terms with what happened and accepting it. Uncle Archer definitely was one of the best characters in this book 🤸🏼‍♂️

Tbh, I know what I was getting into with the whole alpha thing but it is still so awkward for me to read “Alpha” being used as an actual term to call someone. It’s just funny to read it 😭✋ I actually enjoyed the politics (?) of this book and the thing with the cult and stuff. It was actually pretty interesting. There were sm insane lines that Koen says and it comes out of nowhere 😭😭 Personally, killer was not a good nickname….BUT im happy the smut scenes were kept to a “minimum” cuz I did not have sm pages to skip. I also did not like that she actually did not have CSD and it was just heat…realllly wished the plot line was better there. Overall, quite funny and good- plus both characters are pretty likeable so 3.5.
