cơm chiên bò lúc lắc
one of my top two dishes at uyen’s, next to the vermicelli bowl. it’s fried rice with ‘shaking beef’ on top, which is basically steak cut and cooked in high heat while shaking the pan back and forth. then, you eat it with a combo of lime juice and salt and pepper together for that salty tang and then you cut it with the pickled carrots in the back. BROOOOOOOO. so good 😋😋

bun dac biet
from my favorite viet place that i’ve been going to for 10+ years now, at this point. this is the house special vermicelli noodle bowl with thit nuong/grilled pork, nem nuong/grilled sausage, cha gio/eggrolls, tom/shrimp, pickled carrots and peanuts. it usually comes with lettuce and cucumber, but i ask for the bowl without it. then you pour fish sauce over it, mix and munch ! i can taste this bowl in my mind and even after living in houston, i can’t find a place that makes it taste like this or have a portion this size for the price as well. we love smol businesses.

wingstop combo - half hot honey & fiery lime, sub corn for fries
i was having a craving after not really eating all day in preparation for something, but plans were cancelled last minute and wingstop was calling my name after i haven’t had it for months. i went through a period of having it so often that i had to limit myself to only two times a month. since they changed their fries to the generic ass store bought fries, i don’t care too much for them so i just swapped them out this time for fried corn in fry seasoning since it’s sweet and adds to the corn. personally, meals don’t feel complete without a bowl of white rice so it was on the side and not pictured, but i def feel more full with it. every time i eat wingstop, i just think of it as getting tasty protein in. thankfully, i don’t feel greasy and bloated like wingstop can make you feel sometimes. had a coke on the side to top it all off. mlem :3

spam egg everything bagel w/ caramelized onions & dr pepper espresso
nut. STRAIGHT NUT. i miss her. it’s the way i basically manifested what i said in my last bagel post. every change was delicious and i regret nothing. highkey want to make this at home and don’t say i won’t because i love caramelized onions and yes i know the work that goes into them. caramelized onions are so worth the effort, like me :D everything bagels are tasty. okay the dr peppppper tasted real interesting and not in a bad way; it was heavier on the espresso, but you still taste the dr pepper towards the end, and even the carbonation stays even after two hours. if i were to get it again, i would need extra dr pepper on the side bc im a dr pepper hoe. i didn’t expect the espresso to turn the drink creamy, but i liked it nonetheless. i wonder if this or cafe sua da would have me more wired. maybe because the cup was on the smaller side, there wasn’t room for more
brownie sundae
for like $6, i got a brownie sundae with mocha almond fudge ice cream instead of vanilla and the brownie was warmed up and just melted in your mouth

thanksgiving dinner 2025
this year was the second and last year that i’ve done thanksgiving the way that i’ve done it and it’s bittersweet that time goes by that fast. less sadness now - me and an love food and cooking so despite not being able to celebrate traditionally, i think having each other was something i had to be thankful for. we don’t like turkey and chicken wasn’t the move since we did a rotisserie chicken last year, so we went with ribeyes/ny strip steaks(?¿) and i was L-I-V-I-N, livin’ because i just love meat and a good steak in garlic butter will make me damn happy. next was our first time ever making green bean casserole and twas delicious with the damn mushrooms and bacon and salty goodness, but crunchy green beans. Mmmm. then we have tini’s mac and cheese, mind you we are asian so we’re both lactose intolerant, but also enablers because cheese is delicious. buttered corn is a must since corn is immaculate at any time and especially when it’s buttered :D last, but not least, mashed tatooooooooos !! i love potatoes in any and every form, but one of top three is gonna be mashed and it hovers at the top when there’s heavy cream involved. i’m from texas so we love some country gravy on our mashed tatos, ya hear?

chilaquiles de mole
Crispy corn tortillas topped with shredded chicken, green salsa or red salsa, mozzarella cheese, crema, onions. Served with papa a la mexicana y beans that’s the description from the menu, but what i did was ask for mole sauce instead of red or green salsa because when i went to cancun with my parents one year, the resort we stayed at had this dish they called ‘enmoleadas’ and i believe it was basically chilaquiles de mole and i became obsessed. literally when we got back home, i went on tiktok and looked to see how i could make it. there wasn’t a clear recipe for me to follow so i just freestyled with frying corn tortillas, heating up ready made mole sauce from the store (brand doña maria) and adding chocolate because i love chocolate, adding shredded rotisserie chicken because i love rotisserie chicken AND fire source of protein, then combining everything until it’s coated through. sometimes ill scramble eggs with everything for extra protein and filling.

spam & egg bagel
spam, egg and cheddar cheese on a plain toasted bagel !! my rating is only because i can’t help, but wonder what it would taste like on an everything bagel because i love everything bagels. still delicious though. i’m viet so i grew up eating spam and egg and rice with soy sauce and spam has turned into a love of mine. idk how people hate spam, but aye, more for me !

appetizer: triple dipper 😈 we got the southwestern egg rolls, plain fried mozz, and big mouth bites i ordered: the ultimate cajun pasta with no tomatoes and green onions bc warm tomatoes aren’t enticing to me friend ordered: 6 oz. sirloin medium rare with loaded mashed potatoes and green beans drink: i got the good witch margarita ✨they didn’t have anymore wands, but i was okay with that pls don’t yell at me for not getting dessert. i usually love a skillet cookie, but we were literally stuffed to the point of pain. surprisingly, my favorite part wasn’t the food, but watching the dallas cowboys play the eagles and actually winning. i don’t care about football, but there was other patrons who kept yelling so i got involved. the pasta itself was slightly undercooked so i didn’t finish it, but you bet your bottom dollar i finished the chicken and shrimp because i need to get my protein intake.
cicis pizza
idk about yall, but i love me some cicis pizza, ESPECIALLY with their $2.99 adult buffet coupon out right now. buffets are a level of paradise and when it’s for that price, how can you hate ?? i’m still full three hours later and i can get hungry pretty soon once i digest everything. their cinnamon rolls and brownies, despite them sticking to the roof of your mouth, are a necessity at the end of multiple rounds of pizza and pasta. and salad if you’re into that, but i do not do that.
