Ashley Judd was definitely brilliant in this film and her character had a compelling mix of strength and vulnerability. The men were ...... Most of them were quite awful. Many of them saw Jessica not as an actual human being, but as something to be owned. The whole murder case was basically driven by how the men saw and treated Jessica. The final twist is also tied to that toxic monopoly. While frustrating, I also sensed a strong statement about power, manipulation, and the fact that women are often blamed for things beyond their control.
