First of all, the mismatched Cantonese hymns add a strange familiarity that fits perfectly with the offbeat tone lol. The hand-painted animation also instantly impressed me. This movie captures the bittersweet story of a young woman chasing her lyric-writing dream in Hong Kong. The whole thing feels real… not glamorous or dramatic, just raw and relatable. It shows how passion doesn’t always guarantee success and how timing, luck, and recognition can be painfully out of reach. The female lead stands out for her vulnerability. She’s confident at first, then uncertain, yet quietly resilient… a reflection of many people who keep creating even when no one’s watching (yet). The film doesn’t glorify dreams but cherishes effort itself. It reminds us that time, passion, and sincerity are never wasted, even if the world may fail to notice.
