Trigger warnings: domestic violence (physical and psychological), sexual abuse, assault, rape, suicide, murder, and physical violence. I loved it. Such a strong psychological thriller, it kept me on edge the whole time. I felt tense and unsettled throughout, almost like I was inside the FMC’s head. Some moments were honestly terrifying. I know the ending might not work for everyone, but I actually liked it. It felt right to me. The characters were well constructed overall, though I’ll admit some of the FMC’s decisions felt a bit inconsistent to me. Still, I think that has a lot to do with the environment she’s in, maybe I’m just more cynical because of my own experiences.
