when I reach 'the end' scene, I can hear a beeping sound. like when my imaginary world wore off and I was forced to be back into reality. that's how much I was absorbed into Hexu where my parent mingzai are. I ran thru my tiktok watch history (such dedication) to remember how am I moved to watch this masterpiece (notes how tiktok is the most influential force in my life rn). it was the 'my love for you isn't just a little bit' confession scene by mingyi (luyuxiao) 🥹. I go to the comment section and was told she repeat the sentence 3 times while emphasizing different meaning, it was so beautiful let me tell you. I was reminded of all too well by taylor swift and thought to myself 'what is this romcom I have yet to discover'. little did I know I learn another perspective on the art of life from them. then, thru out the first 20 episodes I was so looking forward to that scene while being a little skeptical about the story and how mingzai couple got the title of 'shameless parent' before 'how dare you' was out. I think the confession scene was around eps 22 (moment before disaster aka eps 24) and I am glad I decide to watch it ! I got a lot to yap so bear with me. two episodes in I was already in awe with haominghao playing jibozai. how could a full grown man look that cutesy and sexy? it was mostly his eyes that drew me even more into him. honorable mention for his voice too it was soo good I could hear him yap hours long. neo said he did all the dubbing of his character himself, thank god for his amazing voice (please rock me to sleep w that voice)...up to this point i don't pay much attention to luyuxiao, I don't like her visual cause she look so similar to kimhyeyoon. I was staying cause the story escalated sooo fast, it got interesting the longer I stay. I find myself often staying with fast paced cdrama as they have such many episodes per series. when I say 'fast' I was keeping track yea guys. jibozai fell in love around eps 4, mingyi got shaken around eps 5, they got married (fake-ly) on eps 10, got into some fight on eps 14 and the list goes on. the confession I was so looking forward to was around eps 22, they kinda divorce and got separated on eps 24, get tgtr again on eps 25 before the final arc and biggest plot twist of the drama went on for the last 10 eps. gotta need to rewatch to make sure I'm keeping the correct list hahaha. I love love love the fantasy settings. I get to see some Chinese ninjutsu, flying dragon, cute spirit animals, appearance change from neatherbeast and much more argh. love the strong asf fml x strong op ml plot too. when I thought no one could beat the op ml, there's the super strong fml that are born into greatness HAHA. that's what makes me like the fml, her character kinda grow so much in the later episode instead of just playing coy for the ml. she went from strategizing, forging and then fight in the battlefield herself ! butt I love the chemistry between the leads in the first quarter of the drama, they were flirting with each other trying to manipulate each other into getting what they want not knowing the audience were folding from their interaction 😭 I felt so single guys, where's my fake boyfriend saving me from this reality.. I also got so much to comment on other supporting character such as how obvious the villain names are (si tuling, mu cibai etc 😭) but god knows how long this post are going to be huhu. wrapping up, the element of the drama itself is so good, the ending, the plot, the ost, the cinematography, the character, the dubbing, the comedy and romance essence were all top tier. this would be the first cdrama I was so satisfied with the plot, storytelling and ending. I am now closely following neo trying to watch his other drama (he's so cute someone save me I'm afraid I'll fall so hard 😭).
