As far as I can remember, I always had at home a small bird house hanging to a wall. However, no chirp-chorp bird has ever entered that round shutter. Why's that? But that's obvious: spirits and deities do live in that small wooden cabin! A couple of years ago I cleaned it, washed it and made a small clay statue of a dōsojin, to protect me in my travelling. I found the proper string, I cut and attached the shide to it. Year by year, the wind and the rain deities has worned out the paper. Nevertheless, every spring that I come to live, I do a little bow, I take the wooden structure off the wall, I clean it and I make new shide.
