video Essay by David Achu on Youtube I did not like this one that much because I thought it would talk more about the epidemic of belief that priority over oneself takes the place over community and the rise in this due to tiktok therapists making a thought trendy. I do like the speed of how this guy talks and it was relatively funny especially his anecdotes my takeaway notes: increase in viewpoint that people are disposable and easily replaceable friendship gets less importance because it is not as self serving as romantic or family attachments. A person is less required to be consistent and show up for a friend than they are for the previous two mentioned. Less strings. the constant feeling of fomo and not being content with the people you do have because of comparison. Is this enough? am I having as much fun as I could be having? this is a self centered thought not living in the present. a study showed that loneliness has the same negative impact on one's health and is equivalent to smoking 15 cigarettes a day you cannot accomplish much alone and accepting that thought get rid of the social isolation masked as self empowerment because it actually sets you back farther from success. justifying selfish actions but making them sound responsible by talking in fake therapy
