“oh shit, that sucks” spoiler free review: this was a great display of osgood perkins versatility as a director & i loved every minute.from the creative & gorey kills, to the overall silly vibe of the film & the extremely touching/heartfelt moments everything was just amazing in every way & im super excited to see where osgood decides to go from here. i definitely recommend going in as blind as possible for this movie  light spoilers start here: theres definitely something to be said about the love/hate relationship amongst siblings, estranged parents & children & also the concept of grief in this film & even with the films overall silly vibe it does such a beautiful job of portraying that. i was kind of pleasantly surprised to see a film with such emotional depth from osgood perkins; not because i thought he was incapable but because its just so entirely different from what he did with longlegs & i could have never known what i was walking into when walking into this film. overall the monkey was a silly stupid gorey horror film but it will still pull your heartstrings. also the osgood cameo was so stupid i loved it
