this show had EVERYTHING to be insane… GACOR TAPI NANGGUNG SIH 😭
the premise? crazy good. fresh, unique, and lowkey addictive jarang banget ada concept kayak gini, so credit where it’s due. (coming from a person who hasn't watched Night Has Come) its similiar genre with NHC
acting-wise, solid across the board. no complaints. BUT the writing.. agak fumble dikit. pacing-nya tuh berantakan. ada part yang lama banget kayak mau build depth, tapi ujungnya kerasa lead us to nowhere. meanwhile, part yang actually butuh development malah di-skip atau rushed. so instead of layered, jadinya uneven banget. and the predictability?? its less, serius. beneran gak bisa ngerti ini film nya mau kemana seh anjeng. surprised in every episode BANGET
the thing they did REALLY well is the transition from reality curse ke supernatural smooth, subtle, nggak maksa. that shift? clean. BUT the ending… 😭 bukan “mysterious genius”, more like:
“ini sengaja open-ended atau belum selesai ditulis?”
tapi fully understandable sih, karena inilah bridge di season 2 nya.
the red string di Nari's skin is a perfect example visually strong, simboliknya jelas (connection? curse? being chosen?), but zero payoff. cuma jadi aesthetic tanpa eksplorasi. i wish di season 2 beneran di jelasin sih, karena it has deeper meaning that it shown in the screen.
same with the final twists they hint at something bigger (curse evolving, spreading), but never fully commit. jadi instead of impactful, malah gantung.
OK skrg final verdict:
great concept, decent execution, but weak payoff.
it’s giving:
“this could’ve been insane… but chose to play safe.” 😌
