This book is one of my all time favourites. It's written beautifully, and most of all... realistically. It shows the grays of life, and especially medieval life, which are often overlooked and romanticised. Most of all, I love the characters. They're gritty and real, and they change and grow and think around things. And amazing read. Truly.

Everyone needs to read this, in my opinion. No one ever talks about it, but it's like a shadow, your own shadow, sneaking into your ribs and whispering and squeezing until you really listen to yourself and finally really see. It... changes you.
