as much as i love sci-fi and accidental child acquisition this is just so painfully generic imo (like if u wanna watch smth like this just go see space sweepers) the script is so bad and the acting is so bad too and the worldbuilding kinda a mess :// the only thing i bought here immediately was the US intervening overseas and firing missiles wo a care abt civilian casualties and sticking its nose where it shouldn’t which is very on-brand of them.... BUT the production is good tho i mean u got greig fraser's cinematography and hans zimmer scoring this but those r the only things it's got going for tbh lol i would have loved that the setting was prob somewhere in thailand but there's something funny abt a movie imagining a future where southeast asia has ai advanced enough to change the course of civilization yet visually still stuck with the same corrugated roofs makeshift houses and developing world aesthetics western views always seems to default to when thinking of sea xD
