The most entertaining season tbh The later season lacks of flavour and authenticity, and borish. In this season they are more expressive with the story and i love how most of the episodes revolve around her family instead of her friends, here her dad and grandpa are more active in conversation and generally involved in Maruko's life, not just there as a pasive character like how they made them to be in season 2. However the grandma still haven't change quite a bit, she always had a smallest amount of dialogue and screentime. Her family are wholy funny. Honorable mentions the trio, Maruko, her dad and grandfather lol. I laughed a lot while they are on screen. Too bad it doesn't get the recognition it deserve because the animation looks scary and not childfriendly for a mayority of people. (They missin out on this masterpiece of a kids show istg) I personally prefer the old animation tho, it has that calming smalltown japanese vibe to it with the melancholic background musics.
