I really love the first half of this and the way information is revealed. being in the mind of this "artificial friend" means you're seeing the world differently than humans would and the world building happens maybe slower than some people would like but that's the main appeal for me here. I do think the second half wasn't quite as interesting and the ending is a bit dissatisfying. maybe that's the point.
