As royally unrealistic and hilarious as this was (especially with all the obvious green screen), I ended up enjoying it way more by the end than I did at the start. The beginning feels pretty rushed, but once it settles into its groove, it becomes truly cute and charming. Even tho Uma Thurman as madam president felt completely random to me lmao, somehow it still works in the end. The real strength of the movie is the two leads ofc: Alex and Henry are perfectly cast. They capture exactly what makes "Red, White & Royal Blue" so on-brand and beloved, they feel like they walked straight out of the book✨💂‍♂️💌
