i couldn’t stop myself from watching the movie even though i am only half-finished with the book yet (yes i am a slow reader) guillermo del toro’s adaptation of frankenstein is hauntingly beautiful at the same time compelling. although it didn’t really stick with the source material, the movie provided an alternate perspective in the twisted relationship of victor and his creature. just like any other del toro’s movies, the whimsical and gothic vibes is evidently present. i find myself drawn to the cinematography yet still aware of the changes they made in the movie. overall i enjoyed watching it and my immense empathy for the creature is both evident in the book as well as the movie.
