Haven't read the book yet, but I randomly decided to watch the movie so I could join a book club discussion lol (I don't even own a copy of the book yet hahah. And I know a lot of people say the adaptation strays preeetty far from the original, but I still ended up enjoying it). Overall, it was such a touching and eye-opening experience. Never expected this old, pretty simple-looking movie to be packed with so much wisdom. Through the relationship between a (former) mentor/professor and his student, it reminds us that we're all going to die someday. Death is inevitable, and there's no escaping it. But instead of being afraid of it, maybe we should focus on the life we're living right now and try to live up to our fullest potential. Finding the true meaning of life. Didn't expect to tear up a little by the end hahaha.
