Loss aversion just means people freak out way more over losing stuff than they do about winning it. It’s like losing ten bucks feels way worse than finding ten bucks feels good, even if it's the same amount. This bias messes with everything you do. When things get sketchy, people just play it safe to avoid losing out even if taking a risk would actually be better. It's like when you skip studying because you're scared of failing, or when you're too cheap to buy stuff because losing cash sucks more than getting new gear, or even with relationships where being scared of a breakup ruins the whole vibe. So loss aversion just means people are too scared of losing stuff to actually win anything. It keeps you safe I guess, but it also stops you from doing anything new that actually matters.
