my first historical anime! ⭐ the art style is really good considering this was released in 2014. i really love the concept of found family, so watching the happy hungry bunch forming a deep connection with each other always makes my heart warm <3 i've read it somewhere about the way hak sees and loves yona deeply, but decided to translated it into protectiveness & devotion rather than explicitly confessing his feelings. he keeps his desire since they were young & even when he knows she loves someone else, he stays with her T___T. his way of loving seems to be similar with himmel to frieren and it always felt bittersweet because they deserve to be seen too..... before it was too late. thankfully, in this story, yona eventually realises his feelings & they finally shared some romantic moments in the manga (i'm really happy! 😭) even though the main plot is about rebellion to the kingdom, i find the interactions between happy hungry bunch so entertaining, especially hak vs jaeha and kija. he really developed love-hate relationship with them and i can't get enough of their chemistry :< i've actually finished the manga and i'll say this story deserves some more recognition. i hope when the new season releases, people will be attracted to watch this because it really deserves the hype 🪄
