unlike derek, i'll actually be leaving a good review on this book. if i had a chubby dachshund, i'd totally name it longganisa too. fair warning: don't read this while you're hungry-especially if you're filipino (who LOVES filipino foods). i absolutely love ninang mae; she's hands-down one of my favorite characters. i can't even imagine how many messages marcus got from her after he didn't show up to that "date"! HAHAHA also, huge thanks to mia manansala for including the recipes at the end—i've been dying to try them, especially since i'm on vacation and cooking for my family. and jae?? that man is FOINE. the love triangle? jaw. dropped. and the KILLER?? like, shocking-but i also kinda called it when lila got that call. this is the best book i've read in a while, and it's my first time reading an american-filipino story. 10/10!
