I watched this with Ahia Don... I honestly didn't think he'd come, I was actually prepared to watch this alone. Lol. We had a bit of a mix-up when we watched this because last I saw of the movie schedule online, it was 1 PM but when we got to the mall they changed it to 5 PM. I think it was to accomodate the live Passion of the Christ performance at the mall considering that it is Holy Week. I honestly didn't think any cinema here would do such a thing??? But I wanted to watch it even if I already have watched it back in like 2015. I dunno... I thought it'd be nice to see it on the big screen which it was. It's honestly cool even if it does seem corny and cheesy compared to how movies are now. It has a bit of a soap opera or like a sort of elegance Shakespeare seem to have. Classic theater thing, I suppose? It's still amazing. It made me think about what people of that time would've reacted to such a grand scale production because the set, the props, the costumes, the extras—it feels like they didn't limit themselves from the expenses. It is rich and lavish and feels lived in despite the elegant language. I also wanted to go because... I thought it'd be a nice way to honor papa. I know that film because of him. And I thought it'd be nice to do something while it's around. It got me thinking a lot of things too. One of them being I would be so cooked if I lived back then. I would not survive. It was fun to talk about stuff with Ahia too. Like how he was looking for Caleb because Joshua wasn't the only one there, Caleb was there too. It got me thinking about my reading as well. I'm currently on Leviticus. And maybe I'm not going forward because I've still got a whole life ahead of me and God is trying to make me see that? Because I am a reader, if I wanted to, I would've read it pretty fast like all my other books. Why am I thinking of this? Because I made a stupid proclamation to God that I'll only die once I've read the Bible cover to cover back when I was twelve years old. 😅🤦 But yeah... It's a nice film. I stuck around for the music until the guy showing the movie decided to finally end it. It's... awe-inspiring. Got me thinking about faith and my weird hybrid of it. I just... I hope I'm doing okay. Despite everything. I just hope I'm in the right path or is being led to it. Let it be so, Lord. 🙏
