mcfarlane’s writing is always a challenge to read and i mean this in a good way!! lately i’ve started to become lazy with reading and sticking mainly to easy breezy romantic comedies—not that those don’t have literary value—but i think i blow through them too quickly, eager for the rush of the ending and not really enjoying the story as it unravels. mcfarlane’s writing is just enough to make me slow down without being convoluted and pretentious!!! might just start on another mcfarlane book next.
