another day, another bird with a funny name.. 🤗 as requested and promised........ today's bird is the blue footed booby!!!!!!!! they are medium sized, usually about 81cm long with a wingspan of around 1.5 meters. they have a pointed, serrated, bluish-gray beak. most of their body is a brownish-gray, with a white belly and a white patch on their rump. their eyes are etheir on the side of their beak and have a distinctive yellow iris. their feet are their most famous features! their large webbed are vibrant unmistakable blue. blue-footed boobies primarily eat fish. they're amazing divers and plunge headfirst into the ocean to catch their prey. they especially love sardines, anchovies, and mackerel. they'll also eat squid sometimes. blue-footed boobies live along the pacific coast of central and south america, with a large population found in the galápagos islands. they prefer tropical and subtropical waters. fun facts : -they have special air sacs in their face that protect their brains when they dive into the water at high speed. -they do a unique « foot-paddling » dance during courtship to show off their blue bright feet to potential mates. the bluer the feet, the more attractive they are!
