THIS WAS GOOD. Maybe not Nolan's absolute best, but knowing he didn't use CGI for a mythology film packed with fantasy elements makes me appreciate his filmmaking even more. The amount of practical effects on display is just insane. And the fact that it was fully shot with IMAX cameras? Yeah, it absolutely deserves all the hype, alongside a behemoth cast packed with unbelievably talented A-listers. I kept going back and forth between giving this a 4.5 or a full 5 stars because, honestly, the first act took me a while to settle into. It felt a little awkward and wasn't the easiest world to immerse myself in at first. But that final act? WOW. It completely delivered and left me feeling so satisfied that I couldn't stop thinking about it afterward. Watching this on an IMAX screen was an experience on its own. The massive visuals paired with the absolutely booming sound design from beginning to end made everything feel larger than life. Also, I'm genuinely grateful I got to attend the premiere screening before its regular release today (as I'm writing this review hehe).
