it is funny, indeed. i probably missed half of the points, but i think i followed the gist that it's making fun of pretentious indie filmmakers that exploit poverty for their own gain. while i caught onto its satire atmosphere, the intention just fell flat for me. i couldn't figure out what the movie is trying to tell me half the time. i'm looking forward to its succeeding movies, though. what i appreciate about this movie, however, is that it introduced me to the nuances of filmmaking. this opened my eyes to how crucial every part is. this made me realize how sound design, acting, shots and angles, and color grading can immediately give a script multiple lives. despite my interest in films, i wouldn't really call myself a cinephile, so this movie really taught me a thing or two. also i watched this on a random lunch to confront my childhood fear of the white man at the door in this movie 😭 and JUSTICE FOR JOCELYN! my girl had NO lines 🥹
