I saw this name mentioned online as like an antithesis of James Bond and honestly...? This was really interesting. It is a bit slow and quiet but it was good. I actually like it because I do think that the job isn't always going to be huge explosions and car chases. There's a bureaucracy in it that I haven't really seen discussed or shown in film all that much? Palmer is a very interesting protagonist. I actually like him. I think Michael Caine played him well. I did get taken aback by his long lashes though. Lol. It's also interesting to be to see a spy with glasses. I don't think I see that often and I like that we do see the nods of it in the cinematography? Like how the view would blur and all that. I also find it interesting that Palmer has a thing for good food and that he actually cooks it. I dunno, it's interesting. I am gonna be on the lookout for the book the next time I go to a secondhand bookstore because there is nooo way National Bookstore would be carrying this. Lol.
