hands down the best love letter of all time. one of my favs of tay's songs. it starts simple, goes on simply, and ends simply too—but also beautiful. it's like you don't need big grand orchestral or big dictionary words to phrased how thankful you are of your partner. of your lover. of your best friend. of your person. you only need simple words and memories created between the two of you—special, private, and personal moments that speaks volume for both people. there are two interpretations or scenarios i like to imagine when i listen to tay's storytelling in sweet nothing. call me dramatic—i don't care—i love to romantisize art. one, tay used her experiences, her point of views—that should've made her the main character—to shift the focus to her person. focusing on him entirely and the way he never fails to made her day. or two, as the main character of her own experience, she always see her person as the most supportive person ever and the one she can rely on. it's really different from other love songs that usually use/write in their lover's perspective to say that they understand their partners. i'm sure that tay understands her partner perfectly, it's more like "i see you in my life, i see you in every thing i do, i see you in every good i do. and this is how i thank you or show you how meaningful you and your supports are for me—by showing you my thoughts and my rawest, most delicate self." i'm sorry i'm rambling.
Cause they said the end is comin', everyone's up to something. I found myself runnin' home to your sweet nothings.
