first time watch since i was a kid. this movie & the book meant so much to me growing up especially as a child living through abuse & feeling out of place in my family. i was worried that rewatching as an adult it wouldnt live up to what i remembered it to be but it turned out to be just as good. miss. honey is such an amazing character that genuinely i aspire to be that kind of adult to the kids in my life. (maybe not adopt them fr but definitely be that “safe” person they feel comfortable to be themselves. i didnt get that from my parents growing up & the miss. honeys in my life genuinely saved me by being that for me) this film is obviously full of amazing faces & even more amazing performances, but mara wilson genuinely blows it out of the water here! i also love that while this was huge for me as a child living through abuse this remains lighthearted which for me personally is a abnormality
