This movie rocks!! It’s such a shame that a movie this good is getting so little hype in Indonesia (or maybe it’s just my area? There were literally only five people in my screening and the movie barely has any showtimes). I totally get why some people weren’t fully satisfied with this one, especially because the CGI looks VERY rough and it really stands out, especially with how much movement there is throughout the movie. It’s not exactly easy on the eyes. But somehow, all of that was covered up (for me) by everything else this movie does so damn well. This is genuinely such a thrilling alien adventure. I was on the edge of my seat for almost THREE HOURS. It’s so much fun to follow and the pacing kept me hooked. Every single cast member actually contributes and doesn’t feel like they’re just there to fill space. I’ve seen people say the second act is where the movie starts to fall apart, but honestly, I think the second act is what made me even more hyped toward the ending. And that ending?? I’m not gonna lie, I’m actually excited knowing there’s SO much potential for a sequel. Also, how did this movie not make it into festivals like Cannes? I mean, just LOOK at that cinematography. It’s raw, but absolutely magnificent from start to finish. And the actors?? All of them are damn fine HEYYY. This is so peak Korean cinema to me. If only the CGI had been better, this could’ve been PERFECT.
