Morosophist it is derived from the words moron and sophist. moron meaning fool, and sophist meaning excellence. when a person is excellent in being foolish. a person who is deluded in the thought of wanting to be seen or perceived as a person of intelligence but fails to do so, given the thought that its only for show. i personally use this word to remind myself that not knowing something or being clueless isnt embarrassing. i noticed that i tend to get embarrassed by saying the phrase "i dont know" when i dont know! its not something to be ashamed of, and its not something to shame people for. we as humans learn something new constantly and i have to keep reminding myself that i dont know everything and when someone is not aware or acquainted to a topic im deeply conversant in, i have to keep in mind that we are all little flowers that grow and are bound to attain more and more knowledge as time goes by, and that some information gets to others before ourselves (or vise versa). there are times i feel the need to pretend that i know of something because of the fear of being insinuated as someone stupid. or just wanting to seem smart. but the lesson of todays story is that theres no need to be a morosophist or to pretend to be smart since at the end of the day, in a world where knowledge is deemed to be power, curiosity is what causes knowledge to prosper.
