fun read, but a bit overhyped imo. the first few chapters had me hooked but then it kind of lost me in the middle. there isn't much of romance which I didn't mind, I wasn't even aware that there would be any, so not dissapointed in that aspect. what did dissapoint me was that everything related to the characters' abilities was all tell and no show, bc tell me why one of the biggest fights, that was so built up, happened off page??? and not to mention these characters felt like like they were teens and not in their 30s. with all that being said, the story still had a very unique premise, at least one I've never encountered before, so it wasn't a bad read. hope the next book ends up being better
