A sweet dessert of pumpkin and grated coconut wrapped and steamed in banana leaves. Originally made in West Africa, Conkee came to the Caribbean by way of the Transatlantic slave trade. Nowadays, Modern Afro-Caribbeans make it as a way to share their culture and celebrate their heritage.
