Towards the end, things felt a little anticlimactic for me, but there were little reveals and speculations in the afterword that I didn't expect which made me like it a bit more. Definitely a mystery that's more than just figuring out who the real culprit is and more like figuring out what's really going on here, but the reveals just weren't very satisfying for me bc some of them were things already speculated on in the other chapters. I liked Strange Pictures a whole lot more, but I really like the way the story of Strange Houses is told though! Makes you feel like you’re uncovering the mystery at the same time as the author and their friend.
