i think it’s so funny that the cake with the ugliest pic is literally the best strawberry cake i’ve ever eaten LMAO my friends got this for me 2 years ago and until now i still cannot stop thinking about her 😬 i have a birthday curse of having my cake melt literally every year but even if it melted, it was still sooo good (and anyway, at least the different layers can be seen better in this melted pic) if you’re not a fan of cake/food in general with different textures, you might not like this, but i personally really loved that the layers were all different. the topmost was a gelatin/pudding-like layer, it was strawberry flavored and not too sweet and i really liked having it with the actual cake (chiffon ??) layer. no actual strawberry pieces were in it but i won’t take points off for that because the strawberry jam filling was good too and it had strawberry pulp (?) in it. the last layer had shredded coconut coated around it and i liked the texture of it. surprisingly, the different textures of the layers went well together. iirc it also had wine or rum infused in the cake, and the flavor of it went well with the rest of the cake. not a traditional strawberry cream cake, but she was still the best strawberry cake i’ve ever had.
