my favorite edgar allan poe tale so far. the plot twist totally twisted my timbers— shiver me timbers, yes. as usual, i am awestruck by poe's writing, you can tell he carefully chooses words in telling a story. it's poetic, even. loved reading this as i watch time pass by on my first day of school. you can tell how much i loved it with the number of lines i highlighted!
Who has not, a hundred times, found himself comitting a vile or a silly action for not other reason than because he knows he should not? Have we not a perpetual inclination, in the teeth of our best judgrmrnt, to violate that which is law, merely because we understand it to be such?
