Forgive me for the crime I'm about to commit T.T I'm so torn about this book. I just don't know what is wrong. Maybe it's the writing, the pacing, or idk, but there's something wrong about it or ME! (yup, its a me problem.) I don't hate it, I don't love it either. I love Agustus, I love January, I love Shadi 💅 Honestly, this one started off good (I love the premise okie), but somewhere in the middle it just felt flat. Some banters were good, some were not. Just know that the cult, the carnival and the meteor subplot wasn't for me. THE CHAPTER 13!? I GAGGED. PS. maybe i read this in the wrong season? The edit: I pondered, and I shall deliver. This book talks about the grief of losing your perfect father, only to discover he cheated on your mom. Actually, they somehow tackled it perfectly. How you can hate and love the same person. The reasons why they stay. I just wish, we get to see January slowly accepting that fact instead of being rushed and resolved during the final part.
