Woman get more difficult!!!!! Madonna’s the kind of personality that would be perfect for reality tv. She’s so messy, audacious and quite frankly, unlikeable at times* but you can’t help but keep watching! In a perfect world all concert documentaries would be shot in cinéma vérité style. I really like that only the performance sequences are shot in colour and the backstage stuff are all in black and white. I really should watch the Blond Ambition tour film soon 🩶 It’s also unlike other music docs in that a lot of focus is given to Madonna’s backup dancers as well. Most of them black and/or gay. This doc is frequently compared to ‘Paris is Burning’ because it’s one of the first films that showed queer people existing casually, in a positive light. I admire Madonna for that! *Although I love that about her but other people really really hated her after this film. Maybe they already hated her before it, IDK! Maybe I’m already biased XD.
