This movie is everything you could hope for in a romance. It has that electrifying yet subtle chemistry between the leads, a journey in search of something more, a band scene, and stunning cinematography that explores 90s Hong Kong and Scotland??? It's truly epic. I also love how the movie portrays marginalized people in the big city with kindness, not just lonely migrants like Ted and Mr. Worm, but also those from lower-class backgrounds and people with disabilities. The movie does a beautiful job of showing how we, as humans, cannot control the inevitable. However, we can still preserve hope, find meaning, and build something beautiful with others. Every time we lose something, someone, or even lose ourselves, we grieve, and that’s okay. As long as we never lose hope, we will eventually find our way back. ps. I’d be lying if I said I didn't watch this for Takeshi Kaneshiro at first, but OMGGG, Kelly Chen is absolutely mesmerizing. She has that 90s elegance in the way she carries herself.
As long as one looks, there’s always hope.
