I thought this movie is based on the Shakespeare play... only after the end credits rolled did I find out that this movie is based on the novel "Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk" by Nikolai Leskow 🫠 Its about an absolute psycho who kills for her benefit. Very depressing movie. There isn't even a morale of the story or a satisfying ending where the villain is brought to justice. So it was rather a waste of time for me 😒
