Can’t believe this was actually a movie, this shit was waaay too cool!! It perfectly captures everything we’ve known and loved about Batman as DC’s iconic bat vigilante. The movie feels really smart with its approach too: instead of wasting time retelling Batman’s origin story for the hundredth time, it treats the world like we already know who he is and just throws us straight into this dark, standalone detective story. And because they fully commit to that direction, they go absolutely all-out with it. The atmosphere are dark and insane. The score stays hauntingly consistent for almost the entire 3-hour runtime?!!?, the CGI never looks cheap, and the fight choreography actually feels brutal and believable. This is probably the most grounded and realistic GOTHAM City I’ve ever seen on screen. Truly epic. It definitely reminds me of The Dark Knight Trilogy, but this version still manages to have its own unique identity and standout style. Fellas… it’s la rata alada. No habla español???
