I must say this movie depicts what life in Indonesian metropolitan cities looks like, and it's just so 'apa adanya,' the traffic, the people, the sweat, and the humor we use just to survive everyday life as a WNI? omg sooo real. This is a woman-centered movie revolving around 3 different stories. Each captures a different attempt by these women to cling onto love, relationships, and small bits of happiness within a chaotic and stressful Jakarta. I love how the movie incorporates LGBTQIA+ themes, class struggles, and the harsh realities of marriage. I've seen a lot of people focusing on Gia and Naomi, but I also love the other 2 stories. Indri just wants some cute date and nice food, bonus for the hope of a better future with the rich man she dreams of having. Ci Sara just wants to know the truth, even if the truth is gonna destroy her. I love how she's so empathetic and understands the struggles of Sofia, it feels like she knows what an unhappy and unhealthy marriage has done to woman, especially woman from low economic background like Sofia. That quiet crying and the song of 'pergi untuk kembali' playing at the end is sooo beautiful.
