(im reading this book in english, but english isnt my first language. if the following vocabulary seems basic to you, it isnt to me. please dont judge :) ). vocabulary, chapter 1 : • zeal : great energy or enthusiasm in pursuit of a cause or an objective. • to peer : look with difficulty or concentration at someone or something. • stern : (of a person or their manner) serious and unrelenting, especially in asserting authority or exercising discipline. • grim : very serious or gloomy. • downtrodden : opressed or treated badly by people in power. • teeming : full of people or thing ; crowded. • gingerly : in a careful or cautious manner. vocabulary, chapter 2 : • to spring : move or jump suddenly or rapidely upwards or forwards. • fanciful : overly imaginative and unrealistic. • to haul : (of a person) pull or drag with effort or force. • seldom : not often ; rarely.
