A cute movie that is good to pass the time, but you definitely need to turn your brain off before watching. The premise is a massive cluster of 'Bad Boy' tropes: illegal car racing, underground street fights, all normalized and happening every single night right under the noses of completely oblivious parents. It's very far-fetched and unrealistic. Beyond the entertainment value, the central romance leaves me puzzled. Noah is supposed to hate everything Nick stands for, especially since he reminds her of deep traumas... yet, she somehow falls for him anyway. On top of that, the heavy sexualization of the heroine rubbed me the wrong way, as did the mother forcing them to get along at all costs. Thankfully, the movie is saved by sweeter dynamics, like the initial close bond between Noah and her mother, or Nick’s very cute and protective big-brother energy with his little sister. A decent watch, but take it with a grain of salt! 🏎️💨
