classic!I’ve seen this movie when I was in middle school. but back then I just feel touched by Sam and Lucy’s father-daughter bonding. rewatching again this time, I not only see how love is beyond intelligence, and that you can never break the family bond. I completely shattered at the court scene when Sam lost it and admit that he’s afraid that he don’t know how do take care of Lucy. Sam might not understand and know a lot, but he sure know her daughter and how much he love her. it is Sam that makes Lucky this smart and considerate. I also love the friendship bw Sam and Rita. Rita helps Sam to win the case, and Sam actually taught Rita love. Another aspect I didn’t really catch when I fist watched it is Randy, the foster family. she also love Lucky so much that she wants to keep her. but it is also because how much Randy loves Lucy, that she choose to let her go because she knows the important Sam is to Lucky, and that father is a role that can never be replaced.
