I have never seen a Nazi film like this before. The way Hitler was represented in the film was fresh, and although I may not be allowed to say so, there were many kissy-laugh scenes that were comical. However, the film also expressed the cruel side of the story well, and the balance between hope and despair was so exquisite that it was heart-wrenching. I felt that the boy was just one of the innocent children who had been played with in that era, and that anyone can be like that.
