reading this book gave me the feeling I had when I was younger and would skip sleep and stay up all night reading. I absolutely love this book and Brandon Hobson is such an amazing writer and so very talented. the book starts out with our main character Sequoyah a 15 year old foster kid , who finds himself floating through the foster system. he’s eventually set with a normal older couple with a younger foster kid named George and a older foster girl who’s around 17 named rosemary. I definitely can’t spoil this book for the ones who have not read it yet so I won’t say too much. anyways , what really makes this book so special is Sequoyah’s warped and twisted internal monologue. the shit he says made me reread a paragraph because it seems to come from absolutely no where and it shines a light on how troubled he really is. Sequoyah is very disturbed and it’s hard to pull yourself away from this book because of that. not to mention all of the characters have these flaws that are twisted and still somewhat beautiful. if you haven’t read this yet it should definitely be on the top of your read list. 📚
