mesmerized by how deeply intertwined joel and clementine's lives were joel loved the little, almost insignificant details about her, her quirks, chaos. it was so moving when both of them tried to hide in joel's memories just to preserve the very moments they once took for granted. Joel's awareness even inside his own mind feels heartbreaking. the fact that he deduced mid dream that his memories were being erased shows how deeply he was attached. it was fascinating how he didnt speak much, how he wasn't able to articulate his own thoughts when he was with clem but he shows the most vulnerable and humiliating parts of him to her in his own mind, that's real intimacy ig the ending was so so sooooo real how they just accepted each other with all their flaws and chaos
