THIS IS SOOO GOOD. I already need to rewatch it in IMAX immediately!! I'll admit, I was kind of burned out on outer space movies like this. I expected this to feel like "The Martian" or "Interstellar" (or the combination of both) since I haven't follow the book, but suprisingly, this ended up being my favorite of the three. It brings a completely different vibe and a new hope to the whole 'trapped in space' story. Ryan Gosling is perfectly cast, he carries the film through so many moods as a handsome yet witty science teacher: funny, emotional, inspiring, even tense he brings it all. He's paired with Sandra Hüller, who is a charismatic leader of the task that plays things super serious and all business, but somehow they balance each other out really well and complement the film nicely. The score is solid, the visuals are STUNNING (no doubt about that). At its core, this is a story about unexpected friendship that I think everyone should see. Even with all the space jargon and concepts and knowledge, it was very easy to follow. Overall, 5 thumbs down from me👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 (pls don't be mad, if you've seen it, you'll get it lol).
