I immediately watched this because a lot of my friends had already seen it and I hadn’t wkwkkw. And yeah, it’s actually really cool! one of those thrillers that gets under your skin even without anything gooey/supernatural going on. I even watched it in broad daylight and still felt the chills. Mr. Scorsese really doesn’t hold back when it comes to building tension. It’s honestly one of the most well-crafted thrillers I’ve seen. The twists are there, and even though parts of it start to feel a bit predictable halfway through, the way the story slowly unravels keeps you hooked. You just wanna keep watching to see how everything finally comes together. That said, it’s not my favorite from Mr. Scorsese’s filmography. I feel like he shines more when doing biopics than thrillers. The atmosphere is great, but some parts (especially the end and the resolution, feel a bit forced and rushed to me). Overall, it’s still a great watch, but with a runtime of 2 hours and 18 minutes, I was kinda hoping for something that hit even harder for this heavy psychological thriller.
