I came into this just wanting to be entertained, and honestly? This movie entertained the hell out of me. Sure, Sweeney might not have the widest emotional range, but damn, she looked gorgeous here. Every time she was on screen, I was instantly rooting for her. And Amanda Seyfried was a total rockstar, never doubt her. Putting the two of them together? Honestly perfect for a psychological thriller called "The Housemaid". Story-wise, it’s actually pretty ok-ish. The gore gets pretty graphic, but not in an overly sadistic way. The plot twist is executed nicely, even though there are small hints here and there, so when it hits, it’s not exactly mind-blowing, but it still works. The soundtrack is a mixed bag; some songs fit, some don’t. But when Cinnamon Girl plays? Pure eargasm && singin'-along. Overall, this movie is just pure fun. Like, genuinely fun. I stayed locked in for over two hours without checking out, which says a lot. Enzo's character kind of useless tho. I’m still not sure what his role was supposed to be or why he mattered. But honestly, I watched this after a long day at work just to relax and enjoy myself, and it delivered. Plus, there is a message here about rich-people misogyny and how women ultimately take back the power. #girlpower 💅
